Fun with reading:
At bedtime:

Amanda told Riley to look up for the picture and Riley took it very literally. Heh heh.

We recently became the proud parents of a Mac and had some fun with photo booth.

Our little soccer star of the future

and finally Happy valentines day!

Josh cooked dinner for his two valentines. It was very tasty and tailored to the palates of each girl.

there were special pizzas for Ab:

And grown up chicken for Mom

And the best dessert ever. Puff pastry filled with melted milk chocolate topped with Ganache a strawberry and whipped cream. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

And now for a little storytime.

Josh had to get up early for work today. And me being the chipper morning person I am (cough, cough) I though I would still try to sleep until my regular alarm time of 7:45. Annabelle woke up later than normal at 7:20 and I figured if I laid really still she would go play in her room and I would not have to get up.:) It worked! She went back to her room and played for a while and then went to her bathroom to wash her hands. She has been doing this about 15 times a day since we found stool tall enough for her to reach. Now I knew that I should get up but though what is the worst that will happen? She will get her sleeves all wet and I'll have to change her out of her pjs which I would do anyhow. So in bed I stayed. My alarm went off at 7:45 and I usually lie in bed and listen to a couple of songs until I am fully awake before I have to deal with " I wan mil(k), I wan mil. I wan mil, I wan mil times 100. Halfway through the second song I heard Ab crying Help I need help. Now since the water was running that got me out of bed in half a second. I found her fully dressed sitting IN the bathroom sink which was half and inch from over flowing. She was just frozen and soaked. I guess next time I will get up sooner. maybe.

Story number two:

Last week I was putting Annabelle to bed. We read a book and prayed and I was about to kiss her goodnight when she very sweetly said Mommy? with out stretched arms. I leaned over and she said "get out."
Now in her benefit she did not understand that this doesn't make her any friends since she asks to get out of her high chair, playpen ect. Nevertheless it caught me off guard and I Just said yeah I love you too and kissed her goodnight. She has since learned to say good night instead of "Get out"

Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival in Guthrie the first weekend in October:

This was our first camping trip with Annabelle which overall was a success! We borrowed a huge tent from my brother and sister Tony and MegHan. Thanks guys!

Annabelle got a little bored during the day from the lack of interaction with other humans. It was my first big challenge figuring out when people enjoyed her, uh, attention or when she was just bugging them. She did great at night. We changed her into her warm pjs around her bedtime and she slept in her stroller through the last two concerts in her stroller each night even through the rain the last night, protected by her rain shield which we really should have brought out sooner since she thought it was the coolest thing since she learned to blink or something.

Josh enjoyed the some of the music having to entertain Ab as an excuse to leave and apparently the camera to play with...

At this particular festival they have a Random Band Jam. Everyone who cares to participate puts their name into a can that corresponds to the instrument they play and when the time comes names are drawn from each can and a band is randomly (hint hint people) thrown together. We are given 10 minutes to work up 2 songs and then given stage time to do your worst best. The last couple of times we have been I have indeed given it some sort of shot. And thereafter have felt that I have needed some sort of shot.

And that my friends leaves us with dessert. If you appreciate acoustic music then what ended the festival was the finest of gourmet delicacy mumbo jumbo snooty description that I cannot come up with since, after all, I am talking about a bluegrass festival here. However he IS the king of the mandolin and NEWGRASS, Mr Sam Bush. If you have not heard him you are sorely missing out.

Cats made to order.

Conversation with Annabelle:

Me: Annabelle what color is the sky?
her: blue
me: Who made the sky?
her: God.
me: That's right! Who made the tree?
her: God.
me: Good. Who made Buddy (our cat smoothie)?
her: Annabelle.
me: is that so?

They go for 20 bucks a pop if anyone is interested.

It was a beautiful ceremony and a very fun reception. There are so many pictures so as soon as they are edited I will add more!

Catch up

It's been a while since I posted so the words will be brief and the pictures many. A few weeks ago we went to a family reunion at Roman Nose State Park. we had a good time. AB slept on the way.

And then tried to put on her PJs herself

We looked and waded in the freezing natural springs. It ached for the first two minutes and by five I could not feel my legs from the calf down.

A threw rocks in the water.
There was a nice pool that we enjoyed. it had a two feet deep section that Annabelle could walk around on the bottom which she thought was great. Then she asked to go down the big kid tube slide. She has asked to do that at other pools to which I have said no but since josh was there too I figured he could catch her. So I sent her down and Josh caught her like a football. She decided once was enough.:)

We had a "get your butt back here" party for the Andersons. Emily and Annabelle had some pre-party play.

We splashed and ate yummy Desserts. Anna washed her hair in the mister.

I went to a baby shower the next day and made a fun cookie.

This past weekend I took part in Meghan's Bachelorette party which made me thankful I was already married:) Here are the clean pictures.

The party planners: Don't they look innocent?

Meghan, I don't know why your eye is green. We will fix that.

We also have been spending lots of time at splash pads to cool off.

I guess they were too boring because yesterday Annabelle decided to taste the concrete and earned herself her first stitch and now she has an Angelina lip. It was an exhausting day.

Sigh.

So tonight AB and I were playing the mandolin together. I would try to play her a song and she would plop in my lap and want to play. So she would strum a few times and hop up and I would start to play again. She danced and clapped a few bars and sat in my lap again to play. At one point while she was up she gave me a very sweet smile and came around back and hugged me with her ever cute AWWW that accompanies her hugs and said mommy several times. As this warmed my heart, I let her know that I love when she gives me hugs. Her response was to go hug a chair cushion and say Awww. sigh.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Ok now I am actually listening to it and loving it more and more, especially the third track. It has a really fun chord progression and a stark contrast in tone between the verses and the chorus. As I was in the car by myself tonight, I drove home with all the windows down, sunroof open, and A/C on. I had the sound system turned up obnoxiously loud with an emphasis on bass. The level where you feel it in your chest vibrating and if it's the car next to you, you look at them with raised eyebrows wondering if they are deaf or want to be. Yep that was me and I loved every second.

Artist’s chocolate Jesus angers Catholics

NYC gallery inundated with angry calls ahead of display during Holy Week

NEW YORK - The Easter season unveiling of an anatomically correct chocolate sculpture of Jesus Christ, dubbed “My Sweet Lord” by its creator, has infuriated Catholics preparing to observe some of their holiest days of the year.

The 6-foot sculpture by Cosimo Cavallaro was to debut Monday evening, four days before Christians mark the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on Good Friday. The final day of the exhibit at the Lab Gallery inside Manhattan’s Roger Smith Hotel was planned for Easter Sunday.

“This is one of the worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever,” said Bill Donohue, head of the Catholic League, a watchdog group. “It’s not just the ugliness of the portrayal, but the timing — to choose Holy Week is astounding.”

The gallery’s creative director, Matt Semler, said the Lab and the hotel were overrun with angry telephone calls and e-mails. The gallery was considering its options, he said.

“We’re obviously surprised by the overwhelming response and offense people have taken,” said Semler, adding that the Holy Week timing was a coincidence.

The artwork was created from more than 200 pounds of milk chocolate, and it features Christ with his arms outstretched. The Cavallaro creation does not include a loincloth.

A publicist for the gallery said the artist was not available for comment.

So my question is: Is this offensive for the right reasons or the wrong reasons? Christ did not have a loin cloth during the crucifixion and that is offensive. But is censoring the right thing to do? Will we teach our children a more pg rated version of the story? Then again is making a sculpture of Jesus out of chocolate more irreverent than one of stone? Or is any physical image of Christ a graven image?

Sickie

Well Annabelle is not getting better as I thought. We went in today for her 15 month check up and they said her cold had moved to her chest and she now has bronchiolitis and non infected fluid on her ears. So we were given an inhaler with special apparatus for her and I get to tackle her several times a day to get her to breathe the medicine for 6 breaths. This should be fun to try while Josh is at work tommorrow. Because of this she got out of her shots until next week. I am beginning to become suspicious as this is the THIRD check up in a row that we have had to put off due to illness. She only gets sick when its time for shots. hmmmm. this picture sums it up anyhow:

Josh frequently reminds me that she is not my dolly but my kid but sometimes I forget...:)

It's a picture day.

We had lots of pretty ice so I played some with our new camera. It still is ironic to me how the sky can be so clear and blue with plenty of sun and then you go outside and it's twenty degrees. I went out in my slippers and one came off and I had to step on the ice with my poor bare foot. I am sorry foot for abusing you when I could have covered you with a nice warm shoe and sock that stays on. BRRR.

Toddle, Toddle, Toddle

News of the week: Annabelle is officially toddling around! We have known for sometime that she was able but the was a lack of motivation. Over the holiday she finally gave herself rug burn and wala: she had to find a new way to get around. If she can she still prefers to walk on her knees so I provide the following video as proof since I don't know when ya'll will get to see it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCuyal_S6s8

We had a pretty good Christmas. We did not arrive at the Bozarth Farm until 11:00pm last Saturday night which was nice for the road trip since Annabelle slept. Of course when we arrived she then was rested and wired.

About midnight she went to bed regardless of her energy level.
Christmas Eve, we spent some time at the great grandparents and hung out with cousins.

They also had a really cool playstation game with guitars. It's the first game I have ever really whooped Josh at and thoroughly enjoyed.

Christmas morning we opened presents. Annabelle doesn't really care yet. When I told my dad this he assured me that the greed would come easily on its own soon enough. (yikes) True I am sure. Right now she prefers to sit on them.
Not sure what this is but it was funny.

I was putting up laundry today, which is my least favorite thing in the world to do, so I watch TV while I do it. I watched the end of Meteor Man (yes I know it's a winner). Anyhow, at the commercial break they played one of those ASPCA ads where they show and talk about abused and abandoned animals and then ask for your money. After that commercial they went back to the movie. I kid you not when I say the very next scene they showed was the bad guy throwing a dumpster onto and killing a dog.

Ribs and Snow

Thanksgiving was fun! We went to LA (the state, not the city) and had really good ribs for dinner. We had a leisurely visit and went to the zoo on Saturday to see Annabelle's little known relatives.

That's a monkey.

We had fun in the snow today like everyone else. It was mighty convenient that AB's grandma bought her a snow suit for next year but gave it to us last week. She was not so sure at first after having a hard time moving between being sunk in a snow hole and being bundled up. After she got control of her faculties she crawled around for a while and then began flicking snow off of her mitten until it came off and then started eating snow very pensively and slurping loudly.

I know I am biased and all but she is too stinkin cute.

Does Josh make a pretty woman?

I am here to tell you NO! It is time for the best cruise story that MOST sadly has no picture to accompany it. One night we went to one of the deck parties. This particular one was a Caribbean theme (imagine that). After the limbo the cruise director called for the ladies to come out to the dance floor and group up in fives. Josh was quick to push me out that direction thinking he was gonna get to sit back and laugh it up. After our groups had formed the director then instructed us to pick one lucky man for out group so of course I wanted Josh to have fun too, so he was our chosen. THEN it was announced that this was the Carmen Miranda Contest. I don't really know who that is so I looked it up. http://www.carmenmiranda.net/home.php See Website. Anyhow, we had ten minutes to makeup and dress up our men like her. So, I ran back to our cabin to get my makeup which I applied heavily on my husband's face with a very large grin on mine. One of the other ladies had a orange dress that fit him nicely and we used the matching jacket to make a headdress for him. Other garments were sacrificed to give him the appropriate feminine curves as well. Josh was given a card that named him Juanita Valdez and a quote that said he was good to the last drop which he had to tell everyone and dance around. This was all very funny at first and then was just weird and a little creepy. He did not win the contest which is ok. I am just fine with him not being the sexiest crossdresser. Some creepy 70 someyear old man with long flowing hair who was more than happy to strut around in a bra and heels won. At least my man was modest. No I don't have pictures. I could not find the camera in time and frankly that's something I never want to see again.

There were shopping opportunities at every port. It was interesting how the same stuff could cost a difference of 20 or more dollars depending on the shop. I got to barter for the first time in Cozumel. I got a limestone medallion to go in our still not quite finished bathroom and the vendor wanted 30 bucks for it. After I told him thanks anyways he asked how much I would pay if I payed right now in us dollars and I told him 15 bucks and waa laaa....

I now have something I still probably payed too much for but the experience was mildly thrilling.

These lovely people were our housekeepers. She was especially sweet and seemed to genuinely enjoy her job. She remembered our names and each night folded some of our bath linens into animals and one night used Josh's sunglasses as a prop.

The crew in general was very international. I did not see one person from the US as a matter of fact. It was fun to see and meet others. Even sitting in the houston airport Josh and I realized how non diverse our circle is. We got to tour the bridge one afternoon and met one of the drivers, Eduardo. He was a very patient young man with all the questions and would be captains telling him how to do his job and bragging about their sailboats.:) When one person asked about some maintenance he had seen taking place, Eduardo explained the daily maintenance takes place to MAINTAIN! To which one man replied by demanding to know what the boat had ran into. They are very nice to still give bridge tours...

One of the last nights, they put out a chocolate lover's buffet. MMM. You would have thought they were handing our gold or oxygen instead of CANDY, People. Our waiter earlier at dinner had warned us the line wold be very long so we showed up a little early and there were still about 150 people in front of us. The people in front of us are not the point of the story though; that would be the people BEHIND us. They became HIGHLY irritated when second line formed that would enable some people to go in before us. GASP. After they loudly complained to each other for a few minutes one of them proceeded to the other line to inform them that the end of the line was in fact over HERE. Of course it did her no good. She then tried to push her way in front of us and eventually was directed to a third line for which we were grateful. Sheesh. I like chocolate as much as the next woman, just not that one. That being said, the buffet was impressive both artistically and consumably (is that a word?)

That's about it for cruise news. It was great to have a four course dinner every night that required no work from me. It also gave me some new ideas to try out here at home.

Evan here is a look into your future...

The Cruise pt 1

We had to leave bright and early Saturday morning so we had to say our goodbyes to Annabelle Friday night. She of course did not know what was going on and probably just enjoyed staying up a little later than normal. I cried after I put her to bed for a while and then again on the way to the airport the next morning. I was pretty sad about all of this after I had looked forward to this vacation for months UNTIL we sat down to dinner on the boat ,the first night, next to a family who had two small children with them, who of course were behaving as two small children normally do. At that point Josh and I knew we would be ok.:) It is nice to eat a leisurely dinner and not sprinkle sentences with "Don't throw your food". :) Backing up a little, we were taken by bus from the Houston airport to the dock. Our driver who gave us his name several times specifically so we would not call him "hey bus driver" was a character( I, of course have forgotten his name now) He announced that our bags would be delivered "in our room, outside our room, somewhere around our room, sometime". Funny on the outside, a little nerve racking on the inside. Our bags did make it albeit one was down the hall from our room by 6ish.( we got on the boat around 1).

This here was our boat, the Norwegian Dream.

Soon after departure from the dock we are required to do a muster drill, which is to show us where to go if we need to bail. They cram you into rows by number on one deck (all 1700 passengers plus most of the crew) with your life jackets on to go over all the procedures. There was a little old lady who was either claustrophobic or not in the mood, who refused to stand in line where she was told and pushed her way to the front to stand where she felt like it despite her son (who is another story altogether) telling her to stay put. Josh chose this drill to start singing and bebopping to for some reason... hmmm.

The boat had two pools, hot tubs and a wetbar.

Yeah... that's it for now. I will add more later.

Happy Cruiseday?

There have been two major happenings around here lately so I will have to write a few installments over the coming days, I guess. First and most importantly HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNABELLE! Yep, she's one year old today and strangely looks more like a little girl than a baby for it. :) We had our family party yesterday after church. Both sets of grandparents, both uncles and her aunt were here to share our joy! My brother is quite the shutterbug and likes to be artistic and took over 300 pictures! I would like to post about 200 of them but I won't and if you are curious you may head to bozarth.org for more. Here are some highlights... We had to squeeze in a very short nap on the way home from church hoping she would be in a party mood which took a little while so I let her have her paci until she perked up.

annabelle's birthday 043

Albertson's has a deal where if you buy your kid's first birthday cake there, they will give you a smaller ckae for free for them to make a mess of. This was convenient since we were getting back the day before the party.

annabelle's birthday 173 and even offered to share some stray cheerios she found on her tray. How sweet.

annabelle's birthday 309 which was cause for celebration and jazz hands.

She received plenty of cute clothes and some really loud Sesame Street toys that ya'll age appropriate persons need to come try out with us, and a cute little chair from Ikea.

I have been in this chair long enough especially on this day so cruise stories will start tommorrow. Oh yeah, Briana and Mandy, you should totally come get your pumpkins, they are longing to grace your porches... Epecially yours, Mandy.

EE ee OO oo!

We went to the zoo yesterday! It was quite chilly the first half of the trip and then warmed up for the second half. Annabelle liked the people more than most of the animals, surprise surprise. While we were in the chimp house, my mom kept saying, "look at the monkeys" and AB just kept looking at her. Ha ha.

I like these cut out things alot.

We caught up with some friends.
I am holding on to this picture for when I need something to descibe my bad mood.:) What a grumpy looking sheep!

Well, I am off to sail, sleep and eat and will see ya'll in a week or so!

Fun at Goodwill

Yesterday was an interesting experience at Goodwill. I was lookin around and a man in his late fifties or sixties came up and said I had a handsome boy. (nevermind she was wearing jeans with little strawberries all over them with a red velvet shirt with a flower on it and fur cuffed sleeves) After I told him she was actually a girl he knelt down to talk to her for a minute and then stood up and said "I'll bet I'm the first guy to mac on you" to my baby girl. I was so wishing I had some mace only because guns aren't allowed in Goodwill. Creepo. I chose that moment to move along and two minutes later ran into a guy I used to work with. He was about the same age as creepo and had always been nice to work with especially compared to the rest of the bunch and a good Christian man. As I asked him how life was , He shared that two years ago his wife had died of a massive stroke and in his depression had started using drugs. He said he did not have to go looking that they hit him hard in the face. He entered rehab in February and had a companion with him to whom he introduced me. I hardly knew how to respond in my shock. It was such a reminder of how frail we humans are and how much we need God no matter how much we think we have it together.

On a lighter note, I got AB an Winnie the pooh outfit that says Pooh on the butt.:)

3 days till the cruise.

Pumpkin Party!!

Saturday was Pumpkin party day! It involved some of my favorite chickys but was missing one of them. Lauren we missed you. We dressed up and went to pumpkin town to get some pumpkins but they were way too proud of their crop unless there was a hidden surprise inside that we were unaware of, so we went to walmart instead. We came home and carved our vegetable and apparently , Briana almost cut off my head. I am glad I did not see this. Then we had pizza and watched That thing you do.

Is the Fair fair?

Sorry, I could not resist that bad joke. We joined Brenda and Nora at the fair last week and had lots o' fun.

She played in lego land,

She watched animals...(and they watched her)

Turns out, she fit right in!

And she rode her first ride. It cost three bucks which I am pretty sure I got more out of than her, as a mom watching one of her kid's firsts.

a proud mama

Last night we had fun at Kristena's baby shower. Annabelle was in her element crawling around to all the people getting as much attention as she could. She probably thought the party was for her. I was talking to someone when I tuned into a conversation across the room where someone was wiping her nose and describing to pretty much everyone how she picked a huge booger out of her nose and then then smeared it on her face. I was so proud.

I have thought often about how the thought of a highchair over carpet was a crisis waiting to happen but did nothing. Well today was the crisis. Unfortunately I can't even blame Annabelle. I bumped off a jar of apples and blueberries with my elbow, tried to catch it which only agitated the jar more and sprayed blueberries on me, Annabelle, the off white upholstered chair and tan carpet. Josh is bringing hoem some spot treatment and hopefully it will all come out. It's a good thing that Annabelle had just had her bath 30 minutes before...

I started my clogging class last night! WOO, finally. I have been trying to take this class for the last three years and it has finally worked out. Thankfully, I am not the only adult in the beginner class. I stayed to watch the more advanced class for a little while after mine and it just made me more excited! They danced to Aretha's Respect and I saw some more animated moves than I have before with clogging. I can't wait to be competant!

Over the weekend we went to the bluegrass and chili festival in Claremore. Friday night we decided to live la vida loca and take Annabelle with us and we got home at midnight. Diamond Rio was better than I expected. They are pretty good instrumentalists and they sang in tune too.:) The sound guy on the other hand was having some problems. Oh well. Annabelle slept through most of their concert since they did not start until 9:30. I don't know about having country music at the bluegrass festival though. It brought in a different crowd of people which I am sure was good for business but they are ummm... different. Anyhow, we all slept in a little Saturday and AB got a good long nap in before we returned. It was fun to spread out a blanket in the back and listen and watch Annabelle crawl around and play. Later in the day another family came and spread out their blanket next to us and Annabelle promptly crawled across to their area and climbed up their 3-year old girl. She didn't seem to mind. Her slightly older brother was a different story. He clearly did not like Annabelle moving into his territory and his mom kept telling him to be nice. AB did make it hard for him as she kept trying to get into his snacks and used his behind to prop herself up. She is not shy at all, but then most of you already know that.

So, Friday morning after naptime I took the car in to Wal-mart for an oil change. I figured on about an hour and had an hour and a half before it was time to feed baby-longlegs. SO I pulled up to the check in spot and the guy who checked me in was in his late 50s or so. He asked me what I needed and when I told him an oil change he sighed VERY loudly, looked at the line in front of me and said that it might be a two hour wait and was I sure I wanted to do that. I said that would be fine to which he responded with a stern look an instructed me not to show up with a stopwatch at two hours demanding my car. NICE. Then he looked at my previous oil change sticker to see what kind if oil I had been using and when the sticker didn't say he called the dealership a bunch of idiots and how they do that on purpose because they are lazy. After I got out my manual so that he could look up what he wanted, he then showed me what the manual said and it's chart and gave me a five minute sermon on what they say you should use and what you really should use (based on his extensive expertise as a high level worker at 5 different refineries over the last 20 some years. He used to write these charts! Can anyone tell me why he is now working at walmart???). After all that he informed me that they would only vacuum if I picked everything up off the floor of the car, fine, but then started telling me about how other whine about that and then accuse them of stealing their change blah blah blah. I finally got in line after 15 minutes and got a cart to wheel Annabelle around in. After an hour and half I bought some baby food and spoons to feed AB and hoped she wouldn't miss her formula. We stood at the front of the store as I fed her and she flashed a big sweet potato covered smile at all who passed by. After that, I went to see about progress(w/o my stop watch.:) I didn't see the car in the garage or in line so I inquired nicely about it. It was not yet started. Ok. we will look around some more. It is Super walmart after all. After another 45 minutes I went back again and as I walked up the lady at the desk said she was getting ready to page me. I told her that I would have to come back in a few minutes since I had not yet gotten my three grocery items because they need to be cold. She gave me a dirty look and said nothing. I rushed to get my three items since I was so inconveniencing THEM and went back to pay for the oil change. After she rattled off all what they had done in such a manner that I could not comprehend she checked me out and unlocked the door for me to leave. Thankfully there was a nice old man to open it for me since I was carrying a 20 lb baby, diaper bag and sack of food and didn't have a hand to spare. She didn't bother to tell me where the car was so I had to walk in a big circle to find it. UGH. Next time I'm going to Jiffy lube. Through it all though the Lord was gracious through Annabelle's mood. The only time she cried at all was when I tried to use the bathroom and the other flushing toilets scared her. :) I am glad she likes activity!

Amy got her eyebrow pierced...

So I got this new cd New Tattoo by John Cowan who is my absolute favorite vocalist. I debated for quite a while on whether or not I was going to get this one after I read on his website about the last song which was about his personal experience with child molestation. I am aware that this kind of thing goes on but I am not under the impression I should swim around in it. I have read the lyrics to that song which are on the graphic side both physically and emotionally and it made me want to throw up so I have not yet listened to it and probably won't. BUT, I would like to give you a sampling of the title track. He always has one goofy song on his cds and this one is it.

Amy got her eyebrow pierced. She did it like she did her ear. She just took out a needle and thread and poked a little hole in her head.. Its still kinda puffy and red. Oh I like the way it looks she said. Now with a little golden chain she can connect her eyebrow to her ear. So simple and so plain yet a statement that will last for years.

Now that I've enriched your life with deep thought I will move on. A couple of weekends ago we went to OKC to witness Josh's grandmother's induction int ot he Municipal Office Hall of Fame. It was a fun evening. We got to dress up all fancy like including Annabelle! They hired a Blues Brothers cover band which was pretty good.

The honoree and baby.

The next weekend was a work weekend. Josh worked on the fence with his rented gas powered post hole digger...

I edged the yard which I have no pictures of on purpose. It was very hot. What was Annabelle doing while we were hard at work you ask??

Its a hard life being a baby.

We also had great fun at the one year b-day party at Nora's house. Annabelle spent alot of time in the pool and had her first cupcake and some ice cream. yum yum yum.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Bluegrass and Chili fest is in Claremore next weekend. For country fans, Diamond Rio will performing LIVE for FREE Friday night.

Well, I need to clean up as my parents are visiting this weekend.:)

Well, my weekend of doing nothing other than work was successful. I ate very unhealthily (a whole package of doublestuff oreos in three days) and sat around and watched movies and read. I was glad to have Josh and Annabelle return though, as I missed their company. The parade was fun for all and Annabelle made it into the local paper and helped Grandpa Bozarth campaign. O, and Josh came home with a new car that was a gift from his parents! Its a grand gray jetta!

Last Tuesday, We helped the Sheffs move to their new house. It was a bit warm outside and I got to see Grider flex and kiss his guns after moving what I hope was a heavy box. Ha ha. Moving stuff is actually fun with a big crowd of friends.

Over the weekend I spent the weekend at the Weber's lake house with the senior high youth. I don't think anyone got fried this time. We went with some of the youth from Heritage Pres church in Edmond. Nelson Orr gave his testimony Friday night which was an incredible story. I admire people who are willing to share intimate details of their life with others that they don't know well so that the rest of us might learn something. Saturday was a long fun water day. I drove many non licensed drivers around on the jet ski until I was unable to hold down the trigger anymore. Some of them drove me around as well which was a different kind of thrill. I also go the opportunity to ski a little which I had not done in 13 yrs. There was no cliff jumping this time around which was probably good thing. Malinda, Genesis, and Brooke taught me to play a card game called Cut. The winners got to push the losers in the lake. hee hee. I MIGHT have made us lose on purpose... It was a great weekend and I am more sore than I have been in a while but it was well worth it.

I'm sleepy...

My brother Tony and his lady, Meghan, are officially engaged!!! I should have a picture of the ring shouldn't I? I'll take one tonight and put it in later.

Josh and I went bowling with the young people last night. That event didn't start until 9:30. I am not very good but it's still fun for me. Mandy and I bowled a strike at the exact same time! WOOO! Since we were sharing a lane with Sammy and Jon Noll, we got to bumper bowl. Heh heh. I never got a gutter ball. We got home at midnight and relieved the above couple of what I am sure was their hardest babysitting job ever.:) I gotta say that Annabelle was way to perky this morning after me staying up too late. I will make up for this later this weekend...

Annabelle is going to be in a rodeo parade with her grandpa on Saturday in Seiling, OK. She and Josh are heading out that way Friday night and will return Sunday. I am working Saturday and doing hopefully NOTHING else the remainder of the weekend. I am thinking ahead so there is no cooking at all. Whooooopie. I am gonna sit and sleep, and sit, and sleep and sleep.

OH yeah, I went to my jam session last Friday! It turned out to be really fun! It was a comfortable crowd and I got to reconnect with a couple that let my brother and I play some with their band at a restaurant when I was 13 yrs old. I hadn't seen them in over twelve years. The lady, Judy, used to sing a funny song about butterbeans but first she would have to "tune" her voice to her husband's guitar. It was funny. Anyhow, I need to go find caffeine.

An emotional week

It was a long week. Last Sunday we received word that Tony (my brother)'s girlfriend (Meghan)'s dad died. My mom and her friend came from LA for the funeral. I must say that I don't think I have ever been to one quite that good. It was a wonderful service that glorified God in many ways as we heard about this man's life and the legacy that he left his family in his death. All four of his daughters gave part of the eulogy in which they all described what a Godly leader he was in their house and how he taught them all to read their Bible and that going to church was not really a decision so much as what you do automatically. I could go on... I feel like I know Meghan better now. My mom also had fun with AB.

Over the weekend, Josh was in the wedding of the two people that set us up! It is fun to see the differences in people through the choices in their ceremonies. The first third of the ceremony took place before the processional with scripture reading and some congregational singing. The bride, groom, and wedding party faced the audience which was great so you could see and hear better, not to mention that I got to gawk at Josh in his tux more! As Aaron (groom) started to say his vows to Teri (bride), she began to cry and Aaron reached up while talking to wipe away her first tear. It was so sweet. Their vows centered more on the the roles of the husband and wife from more of a Biblical perspective and traditional which was a great reminder. I do have to admit to some jealousy seeing Josh walking arm-in-arm, up the aisle, with some other chick. I know they have to but I still wanted to be unkind.:) The reception was fun too with dancing and eating. The photographer seemed to take alot of pictures of Josh holding Annabelle. Not that I can blame her, who can resist a pair like those two?

Hot stuff alert!!!

The new family unit.

Stupid tree

Here is what we woke up to today.

Now, we did not have a bad storm last night, just some rain. Josh thinks the weight of the water was just too much for the stupid tree. Why so much animosity for the stupid tree?

This is the same stinkin tree back in November which by the way we are just getting the gutter guy out today from this! There is one pitiful limb still standing which we will NOT be waiting for it's natural demise. We're getting a chainsaw tonight. Stupid stupid pear tree. At least our nice neighbors are going on vacation tonight so we have a few days to clean up their yard so they can use it again. They run a small daycare from their home and use their yard alot. OK I'm done with that rant for now. Ta Ta. grumble grumble, stoopid tree...

HELP!!

This is the first in a while that I have actually tried to read a book. Its very convicting.

I am in need of some advice and open to suggestions. My dear 8 month old child has decided that mealtime is the time to pitch a fit! It does not matter if we are out or at home. Some of you have had the privilege of experiencing this at our house. Congratulations to you.:) Here is what we have tried. She has a spoon of her own, bottle of water, little fruit puffs (which she dislikes heartily), and other toys and I know that she is not hungry! This behavior is getting really old. It has been suggested that the second Babywise books has a chapter on this. I will be buying this tomorrow. If anyone has had this experience or has heard advice from others please share!! Thanks.

Another busy week

Last week was very exciting! It started out with us getting a new toilet seat!! Yes, you read it right. We got one of the cushy kind that's oh so soft on your bum. Any of you may use it when you come to visit.:) I made up a little ditty titled Cushy for your Tushy. Moving on...

On the fourth, we went to the Noll's for a cookout and swim. That was Annabelle's first experience in a big pool which she thoroughly enjoyed. After we got out she and I sat at the pool's edge and dangled our legs in the water. She sat pretty still. Sammy came up to say hello and Annabelle chose that moment to furiously kick her legs and splash Sammy. We all had a good laugh from that. Later we attempted to watch fireworks but it was too late and they scared the baby so we lasted 5 minutes and went home.

AB's 4th outfit.

Wednesday was my birthday. hmmm 28. hmmmm. Ok, I'm done reflecting:). Yummy carrot cake. Josh got me a Super Nintendo which I have been wanting for two years. I want to share his love of video games but there are entirely too many buttons to keep up with on the newer consoles and those games just make me angry and frustrated. I do however like Super Mario games as they are happy and cute.:) We tried to have a nice dinner at Pei Wei but Annabelle had other plans. She shrieked as loudly as she could while we were there. We hurried and finished so we could leave. As soon as we got to the car, she of course cooed peacefully all the way home. Grrrr.

Thursday- Haircut. Took a couple of days to get used to it but I like it now. We also went swimming with Julie, Emmarie, and company. I got the chance to see that swim diapers really do work! Hurray for Huggies indeed.

Todd and Rebecca came to stay with us also Wednesday. Their daughter, Anna Ruth was born around 1:30 and weighed 5lbs, 11 oz I think. Anyhow, they got to bring her back to the house Thursday evening. That evening they were sitting on the couch and Todd was just holding her with the biggest grin on his face! I am so thankful we got to share a small part in their exciting experience! They got to go home Friday afternoon which was sooner than expected. That was good for them, but I must admit to a little disappointment as Josh and I were really enjoying getting to know them and gawk at their baby.:) It was such a reminder of what a blessing and miracle children are. I get frustrated with Annabelle and her tantrums and forget what a gift she is. Anytime you get the opportunity to hold a newborn you always should. Just watching them as they are either peacfully sleeping, awake and looking around or even screaming their heads off shows what a wonder that God has created. I got to hold Anna Ruth twice and just stared in amazement at God's mercy to that baby and her new family! Here are a couple of pictures. What a beauty!

Saturday, the Derricks came over and we stayed up way way way too late! It was great! I haven't stayed up that late since I don't know when. How did I feel Sunday morning you ask? Like crap of course but then that is what caffeine is for. I wouldn't recommend this behavior on a regular basis but it's good sometimes. I tend to get in that responsible rut of going to bed on time so I can get up on time without wanting to kill anyone but sometimes it's good to be able to stay up with adult friends and be kooky.:) I did get to take a nap Sunday afternoon.

Sunday evening we wnt for the Grace talks at church. They talked more about sanctification. I am so loving this series! For sometime, I have been bothered that I don't seem to ever question or disagree with what is said in church while I do all the time at other churches. This series has sparked lots of new thought which is great. Last night the question of the night was "What would it take for you to doubt God's goodness?". I would encourage everyone to come if you can. They have childcare.

Have a lovely day!

So sad

I've never seen my baby so sad looking. On the upside she does feel better than she looks. She has an ear and sinus infection and is on the mighty pink stuff.

So 6 days till the chopping. Here is the plan. If this screams out at anyone as I should not do this speak now or forever hold your peace. If my hair decides not to be wavy after it's shorter, I am in trouble for then I will have to put forth effort. hmmm.

I should know better...

I should know better than to hope for or be excited for a relaxed week. Josh went to help Evan's friend move Wed night so I was counting on a nice relaxing evening with the kid and her bedtime and such. About 10:30 an alarm of some sort started going off in the house. I looked at our (disconnected) house alarm panel and it was blinking "trouble" over and over. AHH predator??? I ran back to my bedroom to get dressed because you can't fight a predator in your pjs! I was thinking could I step up to the task of protection? We do have a sword. hmmm I want a gun. That I could do.:) I checked all the locks and they were intact so I explored other options and found that it was my carbon monoxide alarm beeping. That was only slightly less terrifying with a baby in the house. I was fairly sure it just needed new batteries but was I willing to take that chance. Nope. I called 911 and told them I was not sure if I had an emergency but that my CO alarm was beeping loudly. They sent out a fire truck to check things out just in case. I was hoping they would not have their lights illuminating the neighborhood to focus attention on my house but no luck there. Three nice fireman came in and scanned everywhere for CO readings and of course found none. This search included them having to move not one bit two mattresses out of the way in the garage to check the area around the water heater. (Anybody want one?) They instructed me to get new batteries the next morning (which I promptly did, believe you me) They were very nice and assured me it was worth the call to be sure and that if it started beeping again to call again. Annabelle slept through the whole ordeal which was good.

Speaking of Annabelle, I should have known better than to rejoice in her lovely long naps this week. I forgot it usually means sickness. She has been a little snotty for a while but its getting worse and today her eye was a little swollen so she has an appt this morning. I also discovered why she gets no church naps on Sunday. In case some of you were not so privileged to hear her fit last Sunday let me tell you that she sounds like she is dying a horrible torturous death when you put her in the crib. She does not do that at home ever. I don't blame one single person for taking her out if that is the treatment she gives them. I don't think I could let someone elses's baby make that noise for more than two minutes either. She has now refined that noise to fuss with a retching noise mixed in. I have told her several times that that noise is VERY unpleasant and that she should stop it immediately. Of course she blows me off.:) Well that is all the time I have for now, I'll have to talk about AB and her yearning for cat food another time.

Pictures, Pictures!

I started painting our powder bathroom this week during naptime. It has cut into my exercise time but ahhh, some sacrifices MUST be made to accomplish stuff in life. :) Overall this week Annabelle has been a doll, taking her naps and being friendly and cute. Today I went in to check on her and found this...

It was funny then but I knew it would interrupt naptime later, which it did, and that was the end of a well rested (pleasant) day. Oh well.

I picked up our pictures yesterday. AB has her tongue sticking out in the family one. It's pretty funny.that's blurry but...

I love pudgy thighs. That's pretty much the only place pudge collects with her. Hmmm, I wonder where she gets her propensity to be a ham??

I'm working tomorrow and Friday night I begin a long, humbling, overdue path to learning how to jam. I can play things well that I have practiced but cannot sit down with strangers and play whatever, whenever, which is kinda the point of bluegrass music anyhow. Its a social music to be shared with all. If you can't jam then you aren't a real bluegrass musician and I am tired of that hanging over my head so I am off to learn in what should be a non-threatening environment every last Friday of the month. I shouldn't be nervous but I am. (sigh) Well, I have about an hour or so to myself so I will go piddle around...

PS Does anyone want to go one evening to see "The Devil Wears Prada"?

PSS 8 days til cut cut cut (hair)!!! There must be a hair bug going around.

I will survive, da da dee da...

Phew! this has been the busiest week I've had in a long time. Is there such a thing as too much fun? I say NO!! I got to be with friends Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and a good family visit Friday and Saturday! Monday and Thursday were walk dates. Tuesday was a swim and smoothie(the drink, not my cat) date. Tuesday night was a sleep over here with some of my favorite girls! I suppose I should use the term sleep loosely. Wednesday we played pit with some friends. I have not played that game in years and it is still WAY fun! AND, it gave Josh a chance to get back to his roots with the wheat and rye.:) heh heh.

Friday night my office celebrated one of the doctors practicing with our office for 25 years! We had a really good brisket dinner and then a concert at the Brady theater with a performance by 1964: The Tribute. For those unfamiliar, 1964 is a band that does Beatles music. They recreate the "Beatles experience" by of course doing The Beatles music verbatim, referring to all the band members by their Beatle names and conversing with the accents and the time period being 1964, which is the year the Beatles first performed in America. Since Josh has always been a Beatles fan I have become familiar with many of their songs so it was much fun to sing along with most of them! I was surrounded, however, with people who chose to remain seated and generally motionless during the music. Josh tells me that it is possible to enjoy great music in this manner which I do not understand at all but perhaps will one day accept. :) After that, Josh and I stopped off at McNellie's for a beer and pear cider and low and behold there happened to be three pretty darn good musicians playing borderline bluegrass music! Two geetars and a bass. That part of the evening was slightly dampened by the presence of an attractive but VERY drunk girl who was flaunting herself to whomever would make eye contact with her, which was hard not to do as she was making a spectacle of herself. But overall that was almost more fun than I could handle...almost.:) Then the perfect end to the evening was the opportunity Josh gave me to take some Tylenol PM and sleep like a rock until 10:00 the next morning. Somehow, I am still very tired. Hmmm.

Annabelle started crawling forwards Wednesday morning. She is exploring away now and going after the cats! Smoothie so deserves it. She can't keep up yet so he is not yet afraid yet. To him I say "You will be. You will be." (Sorry for the Yoda joke, I am Josh's devoted wife.) She is thinking about pulling up but not quite there. She was very well behaved yesterday and today for her.:) It might be because she has had regular good naps...Imagine that, well rested baby has good countenance? Who knew? :) Well, I could go on more this being such a great exhausting week but I am sure you have things to do.
